How to search

Use the search bar on the home page to find a surname. Search supports approximate matching, so slight spelling differences or missing diacritics still return useful results. Select a match to open its full entry.

Sources

Primarily Lietuvių pavardžių žodynas from Vilnius University was used for most entries. However many entries have been corrected, verified, and improved with more recent data. Additionally, ltdir/surnames contains more entries than LPŽ, as it incorporates additional sources beyond the standard references.

Can I use it

All data on ltdir/surnames is distributed under the CC-BY 4.0 license. Feel free to use, share, and adapt the material as long as you provide appropriate credit to the project.
