Čirba

The origin is unclear. Cf. (?) lit. chirbēti „čiulbėti, čirškėti“, chi̇̀chirbit „girgždėti, čypti; čirpti, čirpinti“, chir̃bti „čirpti“ ¹. However, there may be this surn. and borrowed, cf. polish Czyrba, which is from Szczerba ². See also Cherba.
