Šokas

Cf. Dance (see). The origin is not entirely clear. Perhaps shock- is connected with lit. dance „daryti šuolį; šokuoti and others“ (DLKŽ). Although there may also be examples of Germanic origin, cf. German Schock, Schöck ¹, Schocke ² or the like. Cf. also Šãkas (see).
