Atutis
ATÙTIS
Etymology
One could suspect that the at- of the beginning of the word is from eit-, which in one place regularly, in another, facultatively turns into ēt-. It is noteworthy that almost everywhere where there are surnames Atùtis, Eitùtis also occurs. But then it remains unclear how ēt- turned into at-, because such a transformation is not characteristic of these dialects. Therefore, the suffix -utis may be a derivative of Ãtas (see).
