Balanda

Perhaps a nickname from lit. dove, dove „toks augalas, Chenopodium“. It is believed that from lit. the word balánda was borrowed by Belarusians ¹. In this case, bRuss. surn. Баланда, Балэнда ², friend and Russian. Баланда, Бoланда ³, would be Baltisms. Relationship with husband Баланда, Баландай ⁴ remains unclear.
