Etymology
Mostly, apparently, the suffix -ulis is derived from Bartas (see) or the like. Only in one other case can the whole surn. be borrowed, cf. polish Bartula: Bartłomiej ¹, German. Barthol: Bartholomaeus ², Bartholl: Berchtwald ³. See also Bértulis.
