Etymology
Cf. lit. Bi̇̀liot, Býlot, Bil̃vin (see); Ave. Billote, Bilote ¹. The root bil- is probably related to lit. bi̇̀lti „byloti, kalbėti“, bilùs, bylùs „kalbus, šnekus; iškalbingas“ ². ³. Perhaps -otas is a suffix ⁴, cf. lit. bill „nelaimė, nelabasis“ (LKŽ I 820).
