Brunaitis

The reconstruction of the base gender Brunaitis from the German inscriptions Brūnat and Brunath is not quite certain (though theoretically quite possible), because Brunat, Brunath may be Germanisms, cf. German Brunnat: Brunhard ¹, Brunoth (ibid). However, the inscription in Bruneit would support the authenticity of such a reconstruction. See below Brown.
