Etymology
Will it not be only from Russia? Булычь ¹, cf. Булычевъ ². But there can be a secondary derivative irregularly from *Bulvydžius, cf. Buivytas < Buivydas and Bùivydas > Bùlvydas (see). However, such an interpretation is not supported by the accent in the root, because secondary derivatives from the old two-stem compound pers.n. the accent is usually on the second syllable, see Bivỹl
