Cf. Bundels ¹, Latv. Bunde ², ave. Bvnde, Bundike, Bundiko, Bundotes ³, lit. Bañde (see). Is there any connection with the German Bund, Bundel, Bundke, etc. ⁴, unclear. Also, the root bund- (in this case through the dialectal gender bond-) may be derived from band-, cf. Bandalãvičius, Bañdė.
