Etymology
The origin is unclear. It could be a derivative of the suffix -elė from bū̃bti, cf. grūdẽlė „grūdeklis, grūstuvas“: grū́sti (LKG I 393), but such appellative derivatives are very rare. A connection is not impossible, especially due to the geography of Būbẽle, and with the German. Bubel or something. ¹. Cf. still bend Bubela ².
