Etymology
The origin is unclear. Cf. 17th century Drahel (probably *Dragelis) and lit. to be afraid „be tvarkos ką daryti, gadinti; triukšmauti“ ¹. But other connections are also possible, cf. polish Drag (SSNO I 517), Draga ². See also Dragãšius.
