Etymology
Cf. Latin Trigger (LAG 536). Sometimes the suffix -ukas can be derived from Gaidỹs (see) or similar. It can also be with an added consonant from Aidùkas. However, the whole surn. is apparently borrowed, cf. polish Hajduk ¹, bRuss. Гайдук, Гайдукоў, Russian. Гайдуков: BRuss. гайдук - see below Echo
