Galginas

The origin is unclear. Theoretically, the compound example seems clear: Gal̃-ginas, cf. Gal-i-gi̇̀nas, Gãl-i-gintas ¹. For maybe - see Gal̃kontas, due to gin- - Gi̇̀mbutas. However, it can also be an animal from lit. gal̃ginas „žąsinas“ (LKŽ III 64).
