Gečas

Sometimes the suffix -šas can be derived from the root ged- (*Ged-šas), cf. mourning „liūdnas, pilnas skausmo, gedėjimo“ (LKŽ III 199), to mourn, mourn or mourn (*ged-ti) „irti, trikti; prastėti; pūti“ ¹.
