Jakniūnas

Perhaps the suffix -ūnas is a derivative of *Jaknys or something like thimm. The origin of the stem yakn- is unclear. Sometimes it can be from lit. slavism jãknos „kepenys“ (LKŽ IV 291). But most of the time, apparently, the whole surname is borrowed - see Joknỹs.
