Etymology
Cf. Kessel (see). Perhaps a Germanism, cf. German Kessel ¹. This is especially true for Kessel. The surname Keselỹs would seem to be a hybrid, the ending -ys of which may be later, arising from the general word (also borrowed from German) keselỹs „pintinė, krepšys, kraitelė“ (LKŽ V 636).
