Etymology
Cf. Ki̇̀las, Ki̇̀lis, Kilỹs (see). The origin is not entirely clear. It is possible, at least theoretically, to be related to lit. origin „iškilęs į viršų“ (LKŽ V 800). But mostly, apparently, it is associated with the baptismal name Kilijõnas, cf., let's say, Polish. Kila: Kilian ¹, German. Kill: Kilian ².
