Kivilis

Cf. Kivỹlis, Kivi̇̀lius, Kivỹlius (see). The origin is not entirely clear, especially considering the juxtaposition of kivil- and kivyl-. However, it seems that it would be most reliable to connect with Lieut. kiwi̇̀lis „toks paukštis“ (LKŽ V 934). But cf. kyvyla „kas vis juokiasi, šaiposi“ ¹. See also Chivỹl
