Kužas

Cf. lit. Kuzys (see), Latv. Kuža (LAG 459), Kužis ¹. Further, apparently, it can be associated with Kùzas (see). For kuz-: kuž- cf. Kuzmà and Kužmà (see). But it can also be a nickname derived from lit. kúžas „pagrėbstų pėdas; nedailiai surištas, išdrikęs javų pėdas; kužulas; pluoštas, kuokštas“ (LKŽ VI 1019).
