Latin Kuriņš ², Polish. Kur, Kura ³, bRuss. Kyp ⁴ and so on. Often, especially surnames with suffixes ⁵, a possible connection with lit. create „greitai bėgti, eiti, dumti“ (LKŽ VI 974-975), create „lobti“ ⁶ or similar.
