Perhaps a composite surn., the second point of which would be from lit. eyes The origin of the first sandal kurt is unclear. Cf. lit. kùrtas „labai greitas medžioklinis šuo“ (LKŽ VI 973). The value would be „šunakis“ or something like thimm.
