Lūšis

Cf. Lū́še (see). The relationship with surnames with the root luš- (see Lùšas) is not entirely clear. However, it would be reasonable to associate with Lieut. lū́šis, lū́šė „plėšrus kačių šeimos gyvulys“ (LKŽ VII 711). Cf. dar lū́ša „apsileidėlis, tinginys“ (ibid.).
