Etymology
Most likely, the Lithuanian patronymic suffix -okas is a derivative from Labỹs (see) or something like thimm. The connection with Slavism labõkas „trobesio galo nuolaidi trikampė stogo dalis; klojimo rąstas, prie kurio pritvirtinamos gegnės“ ¹ would be doubtful, because this word is known only from eastern Lithuania.
