Pavalkis

Cf. Pavalka, Paval̃kius (see). These surn. the origin is not entirely clear. There may be nicknames associated with lit. clothes, clothes, clothes „su mediniais kamantais pakinktai, maunami arkliui ant kaklo; arkliui ant kaklo maunama minkšta pakinktų dalis, ant kurios uždedami kamantai“ (LKŽ IX 663) or clothes „vieta prie valkos, klano“ ¹.
