Sometimes it can be surnames with plus-graphics or others. variants (this would also be evidenced by the prevalence of surn.) - see Plush. Although theoretically it can also be of a different origin, cf., for example, lit. splash „pliauska, atskala, skeveldra; kas suplotas, plokščias and others“ (LKŽ X 282-283), bRuss. Плюскoў ¹, Russian. Плюскъ, Плюскo ², Pljuskov ³, etc.
