Cf. Pùsčas (see). These surn. the origin is not entirely clear. It could be a surn. of nickname origin, connected with lit. pùščius „mit. būtybė, išpustanti iškultus grūdus“ (LKŽ X 1002), but cf. still bend Puszcz (SSNO IV 399).
