Ratautas

Cf. lit. Rótautas, Ratovtas (see). Compound surnames, the second root of which is taut- (see Táuginas for it). The origin of the first sand is unclear. It is doubtful whether the root is ra- or ro-, cf. lit. Rataũtiškis k. Kupiškis district and Rotautai̇̃ k. Ukmergė district Cf. still lit. pers.n. Ratowtowicz ¹.
