It is not entirely clear whether it can be connected with Lieut. Rezleris (see), whether it should be derived from lit. to cut „iš lėto eiti, kėblinti“, to cut „rėplioti, repečkoti; pamplinti, rėzlinti“ (LKŽ XI 504).
