Seleckas

Cf. Seleikis, Selẽvičius, Seli̇̀ckas (see). The origin of the root sel- is not entirely clear. It could be the root of an abbreviation of some baptismal name, cf. Brus Cел: Cелиний ¹, Russian. Cеля: Cелевкий, Cелиний, Cильвестp ² etc. Cf. still brus Cялевiч, Cелiневiч: Cелиний ³, Russian. Selin, Selenin, Selinin: Selivan, Seliverst, Selevkij ⁴ etc. Although there may be other origins, cf.
