Perhaps it can be associated with lit. in Slavism siẽras „pilkas“ (LKŽ XII 529), cf. still Russian Serov ¹, bRuss. Cеpы, Cяpoў, Cяpoўскi, Russian, Ukrainian Cеpoй ² and so on. Although in many cases it could be phonetic, graphic or other. variants of the roots sir- (see Sirei̇̃kis) or šer-, šir- ³.
