Cf. Siáuris, Siaura, Siaũrė (see). Most likely, these are nicknames surn., connected with lit. narrow „kuris mažo skersio, pločio; užimantis maža vietos, erdvės, ploto, ankštas and others“ (LKŽ XII 477), narrow „siaurumas“ ¹ and so on.
