Etymology
Perhaps the nickname surn., the root of which is sprang-connected with lit. sprangùs „sunkiai nuryjamas; kuris greitai paspringsta; rajus; jautrus, opus“ (LKŽ XIII 494), sprangi̇̀nti „springti“, sprangi̇̀nti „sprogdinti; badu marinti, dvasinti and others“ ¹ or similar.
