Etymology
Cf. Strùnkis (see), further cf. Latin Strunke ¹, Struņķis ². Perhaps from lit. struñkis (cf. la. strunķis) „ko nors striukas gabalas“ (LKŽ XIII 1003). But there may be other origins, cf. still German Strunk ³.
