Cf. Talalà, Talẽlis (see). Could be a nickname surn., connected with lit. talalúoti „įkyriai, be perstojo kalbėti; niekus kalbėti, plepėti; nerimtas dainas dainuoti“ (DLKŽ) or similar. Although it can also be from Talẽlis (see), *Tolelis, *Tolelė or the like, then cf. Stay away (see).
