Cf. Tikùišis, Ti̇̀kužis (see). These surn. the origin of the root tik- is not clear. Cf. lit. expect „laikyti tikru dalyku“, expect „turėti vilties, laukti“ (DLKŽ), maybe expect „būti geram, naudingam; būti gražu, derėti“ (ibid.) or something. Cf. also Tykùtis (see).
