Tribulas

Cf. Tri̇̀bulis, Tribula (see). The origin is not entirely clear. Perhaps with the suffix -ul- from Tri̇̀bas, Tri̇̀bė (see) or the like. Cf. still lit. to tribulate „šokinėti, trypinėti“ (DLKŽ). See also Z. Zinkevičius, 1977, p. 210.
