Tulys

Cf. Tula, Thule, Tuli (see). The origin of the root tul- is not clear. Perhaps first cf. lit. tū́las „dažnas, ne vienas, daug kas“ (DLKŽ), _tūlė_̃ „daugybė, būrys, pulkas“ ¹ and so on.
