LIAUDGINAS
Etymology
The relationship between the official gender Liaud-ginas ¹ and the Liauz-gi̇̀nas used by people, cf. Liaus-gi̇̀nas (see). Perhaps Liauz-gi̇̀nas is from *Liaudž-ginas. Then for the people - cf. lit. people ² - see Liaudáitis, Liaudánskas. The root laud- is rare in the second sentence, cf. Vý-people ³. For defense, see Gi̇̀mbut.
