K. Būga and A. Salys in this surn. time bistem - Pùt-rim ¹; cf. still lit. pers.n. Pùt-vinas ² and pers.n., in which the root put- is in the second syllable - Ei̇̃-putas, Si̇̀r-putas, Sùr-putas (ibid.). The root put- is connected with lit. pū̃sti (pučiù), putà (ibid.).
