Cf. lit. Rebecca (see). If the root reb- is not from rieb-(cf. Riebikas) - (see), then perhaps it is connected with lit. rèbis „kairiarankis“, rebė́ga „nerangus žmogus, kebėža, kerėpla“ (LKŽ XI 347) or similar.
